Scarlett is Two Months Old!
Wow Scarlett is two months old now. She has the sweetest smile in the world, is starting to reach for objects and is sleeping through most nights now. At her recent pediatrician visit she was 12.5 pounds and if I remember correctly 24 inches long (that's 92nd percentile for height!) She is so soft and precious I wish I could freeze time.

Brandon Goes Camping?
No, your eyesight is not failing you. On Saturday, Brandon, who's idea of camping is sleeping on anything other than a pillow top mattress, took the kids to our town's annual Dad and Me Camp Out that is held in the middle of Weston behind one of the elementary schools. The quiet afternoon I had been looking forward to all week was quickly interrupted by no fewer than 32 phone calls from Brandon pleading for guidance on how to set up the tent and inflate the self-inflating Thermarests. Did I mention the fact that Brandon is an Eagle Scout?

The kids had a great time hanging out with their dad, swimming at the town pool, roasting marshmallows, watching the Bee Movie on an outdoor screen and running around until midnight or so with their new headlight flashlights. The fun all ended the next morning around 5:30 am when all of the kids woke up and the tents started coming down. Despite the fact that I hooked him up with the ultimate luxury camping equipment, Brandon is still not so sure about camping. The kids on the other hand, have just one question: "Dad, when can we do this again?"

Scarlett is 1 Month Old
Scarlett had her one month checkup today! She is 10 pounds 8 ounces, 23 1/2 inches, and falls into the 85th percentile. Considering that Henry is in the -8.6th percentile, I figure that their growth curves will intersect sometime around mid december at which point Henry will pull out his light saber in an effort to defend his title as big brother. She won't fight back though, because all she wants to do is snuggle. Scarlett loves to be held and she frequently reminds of this every time we try to put her down. I recently came across this quote: "Kids are the greatest joy in the world, but they are also terrorists. You'll realize this as soon as they are born, and they start using sleep deprivation to break you." I don't remember who said it because my brain is in a fog from lack of sleep. That and taking care of my other three terrorists. I'm going to go snuggle Scarlett.
